Planning Your Wedding Day Hair
Great bridal hair starts months before the wedding. Here is our recommended timeline so you can enjoy the process without any last-minute stress.
6 to 12 Months Before
Book your bridal hair date as early as possible, especially if your wedding falls during peak season from April through October. Weekend dates fill up fast, and securing your spot early guarantees your stylist’s undivided attention on the morning of your wedding. This is also a great time to start growing out your hair or addressing any damage with treatments like a keratin treatment or Brazilian Blowout for smoother, more manageable hair on your big day.
2 to 3 Months Before
Schedule your bridal trial. This appointment is where we bring your vision to life for the first time. Bring your inspiration photos, your veil or headpiece, and any accessories you plan to wear. We will experiment with different looks until we land on one you love. If you are considering hair extensions for added volume or length on your wedding day, your trial is the perfect time to discuss options — many brides choose hand-tied extensions installed 2 to 4 weeks before the wedding for a completely natural look.
1 to 2 Weeks Before
If you are getting extensions, your installation appointment should be scheduled at least one to two weeks before the wedding so the extensions settle naturally. Avoid any major color changes within the final week. Stick to your normal hair care routine and avoid heavy products or treatments that could affect how your style holds.
Wedding Day
Arrive with clean, dry hair unless your stylist has instructed otherwise. We recommend washing your hair the evening before — freshly washed hair can be too slippery for updos, while day-old hair holds pins and texture spray better. Your stylist will handle everything from there, including touch-ups right before you walk down the aisle.

Wedding Hair FAQ
How far in advance should I book my bridal hair?
We recommend booking 6 to 12 months before your wedding date, especially for spring and fall weddings. Weekend dates during peak season fill up quickly. The earlier you book, the more flexibility you will have with scheduling your trial appointment.
Can you style my entire bridal party?
Yes. We offer bridal party packages that include styling for bridesmaids, mothers of the bride and groom, flower girls, and anyone else getting ready with you. For parties of four or more, we recommend starting earlier in the morning to ensure everyone is styled and ready with time to spare.
Do you offer on-location bridal styling?
We do. For an additional fee, we will come to your venue, hotel, or home anywhere in the Cary, Raleigh, and Triangle area. Popular venue locations we have traveled to include The Bradford, The Merrimon-Wynne House, The Rickhouse, Rand-Bryan House in Garner, and The Barn at Valhalla in Chapel Hill. On-location service ensures you and your party can relax and get ready in one place.
Should I get hair extensions for my wedding?
Many brides add hand-tied or tape-in extensions for extra volume, length, or both. Extensions are especially helpful if you want a full updo or voluminous waves. We recommend scheduling your extension installation 2 to 4 weeks before the wedding so they blend completely with your natural hair. Your trial appointment is the best time to decide whether extensions are right for your look.
What should I bring to my bridal trial?
Bring your inspiration photos, your veil or headpiece, any hair accessories, and photos of your dress (especially the neckline and back). Wearing a white or light-colored top helps your stylist see how the finished look will complement your overall bridal aesthetic. The more details you share, the better we can tailor your style.
